Pilots send out a Mayday in court

This amidst a salary dispute involving Singapore Airlines and SIA Cargo.

A Reuters report said the dispute is being taken to the Industrial Arbitration Court. SilkAir was originally involved but the report noted that the issue has been resolved.

“SilkAir has agreed to raise the pay of its captains by between S$340 and S$360 a month and by S$225 for first officers. They will also receive a lump-sum payment for the back-dated amount owed and their pay adjusted accordingly,” said the report.

Meanwhile the president of the Airline Pilots Association of Singapore, P. James, said he hoped a similar out-of-court settlement could be reached for SIA and SIA Cargo.
