Scoot scoots to Melbourne
Scoot will operate the route five times weekly.
Low-cost carrier Scoot Pte Ltd (Scoot) has launched nonstop services to Melbourne just in time for The Melbourne Cup, according to a press release by the company.
“Scoot has long received requests to fly to Melbourne, Australia’s sporting and cultural capital, so we’re delighted to finally be doing so,” said Campbell Wilson, Scoot CEO.
The addition of Melbourne brings Scoot’s total number of destinations to 17 in eight countries and territories. Melbourne is Scoot’s fourth Australian destination.
"The arrival of Scoot to Victoria is a real vote of confidence in our visitor economy and a big win for our state. It gives more visitors from our key Asian markets a chance to travel here for themselves and see we have the best of everything," said the Honourable John Eren, Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Sport and Veterans in the State of Victoria.
The airline’s rapidly growing fleet of brand-new 787 Dreamliners boasts modern amenities such as inflight Wi-Fi and in-seat power supply.
“Scoot will operate the route five times weekly, rising to daily during peak travel periods,” said the press release.
