SG, New Zealand ink deal on aviation maintenance, repairs to enhance safety
The agreement will also reduce duplicative regulatory audits.
Aviation authorities signed a technical agreement on aircraft maintenance and repairs to improve safety oversight and cut regulatory costs.
In a joint statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAA NZ) announced that they will mutually accept approvals on maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft and its components issued by the civil aviation authorities.
“This will enhance safety oversight while minimising duplicative regulatory audits and reducing associated regulatory costs for MRO organisations in Singapore and New Zealand,” read the statement.
There will also be closer collaboration between CAAS and CAA NZ to back the development of aviation industries of both nations due to the revival of travelling and loosening of border restrictions.
