Load factors improved across most regions due to strong summer demand and earlier Lebaran holiday travel.
Singapore Airlines' systemwide passenger carriage in August 2012 grew 8.7% year-on-year against a 6.4% increase in capacity, resulting to improved passenger load factor by 1.7 percentage points to 78.3%.
Meanwhile passenger load factor for East Asia and South West Pacific route regions declined as growth in demand was outstripped by the increases in capacity.
SIA said promotional activities are expected to continue to place downward pressure on passenger yields.
