SIA Group extends vaccinated travel to 14 cities
This could allow more passenger to fly in from cities like London, Milan, and Paris.
A Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) expansion that includes 14 cities was announced by Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group last October 9, 2021.
Cities from the countries of Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States would be covered by this.
Previously, the program only included arrangements with Brunei and Germany with its inception last September 2021.
Singapore Airlines will operate VTL services from Amsterdam, Barcelona, Copenhagen, London, Los Angeles, Milan, New York, Paris and Rome beginning October 9, 2021. A VTL to Seoul will also begin on November 16, 2021.
Meanwhile, SIA’s sister airline, Scoot, will be in charge of VTL flights from Berlin starting October 20, 2021.
Multi-city itineraries within VTL countries are also allowed if customers meet the 14-day travel history requirement.
Lee Lik Hsin, Executive Vice President Commercial, Singapore Airlines, has said that this move is in support of a return to quarantine-free travel.
“The SIA Group supports all measures to reopen Singapore to quarantine-free international travel. This will enable the safe and gradual recovery of Changi Airport
as a major air hub, backed by rising vaccination rates and confidence in the robust health and safety measures across the end-to-end customer journey,” Lee said.
