SIA Group’s passenger traffic rises 7.2% in June
The revenue passenger-kilometre for the month was 12.5m.
Singapore Airlines Group (SIA Group) saw a 7.2% uptick in passenger traffic in June, whilst passenger capacity grew by 11.0%.
SIA and its budget carrier Scoot collectively carried nearly 3.2 million passengers in June, marking a 9.7% year-on-year (YoY) increase.
The SIA Group also recorded a passenger load factor (PLF) of 87.4%, with SIA and Scoot achieving monthly PLFs of 87.1% and 88.7%, respectively.
Meanwhile, cargo operations reported a load factor of 58.0%, up 6.4 percentage points from the previous year.
Cargo volumes increased by 24.9% YoY, driven by robust e-commerce demand, spillover from disruptions to sea freight, and port congestion, surpassing the 11.0% capacity expansion during the period.
In addition, SIA launched new flights to London (Gatwick) whilst Scoot added services to Sibu in June, expanding the group’s passenger network to 125 destinations across 36 countries and territories, with SIA serving 78 and Scoot 69.
The cargo network covers 129 destinations in 37 countries and territories.
