SIA Group’s passenger volume rises 6.1% to 2.4 million in November
The group’s passenger capacity also increased during the month.
The number of total passengers carried by Singapore Airlines and Scoot (SIA Group) rose by 6.1% MoM to 2.4 million in November 2022.
With an increase in its total passenger count, the group’s passenger capacity measured in available seat kilometres also expanded, rising by 5.5%
Based on the airline group’s latest operating results, the November 2022 passenger capacity is almost double last year’s and is already 75% of pre-COVID levels.
Meanwhile, the group passenger load factor (PLF) came in at 85.9% during the month, marginally lower by 0.5 percentage points on a MoM basis, and 56.8 percentage points higher on a YoY basis.
Cargo operations likewise saw a decline in November, only registering a load factor of 56.0% (-27.9% YoY).
In November, Scoot resumed operations in Sapporo, Japan and started a new service to Kuantan; however, it suspended service to Zhengzhou due to COVID-19 restrictions.
At the end of the month, the group served 110 passenger destinations; of which SIA served 76, whilst Scoot served 56. The cargo network covered 116 destinations.
