SIA Group’s passenger volume soars 23.1% YoY in January

The group carried a total of 3.2 million passengers.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Scoot carried 3.2 million passengers in January, translating to a 23.1% YoY increase in the SIA Group’s passenger volume.

Despite an increase in passenger volume, the group’s passenger load factor (PLF) declined by 1.6 percentage points (pp) year-on-year (YoY) to 85.3%. 

SIA and Scoot posted monthly PLFs of 84.2% and 89.4%, respectively.

The group’s cargo load also increased in January, growing 19.7% YoY amidst stronger e-commerce demand and shipments growth ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays.

Total cargo and mail carried for the month was 85.9 million kilogrammes (+23.1% YoY), whilst the group’s cargo load factor increased 2.7 pp YoY to 54.5%.
