SIA in talks with Tata Group over potential integration of Vistara and Air India
The airline holds a 49% stake in Vistara's operator.
Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) is in discussion with Tata Group to integrate the latter's subsidiary, Air India, with Vistara, where both companies have a major stake.
Tata Group has a 51% equity interest in Vistara, whilst SIA holds a 49% stake in the airline's operator, SIA Tata Airlines Limited.
"SIA is currently in confidential discussions with Tata to explore a potential transaction in relation to the securities of Vistara and Air India," the airline said in a bourse filing.
"The discussions are ongoing, and no definitive terms have been agreed upon between the parties. There is no certainty or assurance that any definitive agreement will be entered into or the potential transaction will materialize or proceed to completion arising from these discussions," SIA added.
