SIA plane catches fire upon emergency landing at Changi
It has 241 passengers and crew onboard.
A Singapore Airlines plane caught fire at Changi Airport's runway at 6:50 AM on Monday, June 27.
Flight SQ368 was headed to Milan and originally took off at 2:05 AM. It was forced to turn back to Singapore after pilots received an engine oil warning message.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's right engine caught fire. It was put out by airport emergency services and no injuries were reported among the 222 passengers and 19 crew onboard, SIA said.
The passengers will be transferred to another aircraft which is expected to depart for Milan later today. The airline is working with authorities, SIA said.
