Singapore Polytechnic bags RSAF's AS332 helicopter to boost aerospace curriculum
The helicopter will provide hands-on training for over 330 students annually.
Singapore Polytechnic (SP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Singapore Air Force and received an AS332 Super Puma helicopter to enhance its aeronautical and aerospace diplomas.
The helicopter will be used to conduct integrated operations with the Singapore Army and support search and rescue missions, providing hands-on learning opportunities for more than 330 students annually.
Students from the Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering (DARE) and Diploma in Aerospace Electronics (DASE) programmes will benefit from this practical training in aircraft aerodynamics, aircraft systems, ground support equipment, and avionics.
Since November 2010, more than 13,800 DARE and DASE students in over 14 batches have used the UH-1 Iroquois helicopter for hands-on aircraft maintenance training.
