ST Engineering redelivers aircraft to US-based firm
The P2F aircraft was ordered by BBAM in 2019.
ST Engineering, together with Airbus and Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), has redelivered the A321 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) aircraft to US-based aircraft leasing company BBAM Limited Partnership (BBAM).
The A321P2F is the first in its size category to offer containerised loading in both the main and lower decks.
BBAM ordered the aircraft during the Paris Airshow 2019. The order followed a launch contract announced in 2018. The BBAM A321 converted freighter will be leased to British charter airline, Titan Airways.
The joint venture is under the A321P2F programme launched in 2015. It is a collaboration among ST Engineering, Airbus and EFW.
Under the program, ST Engineering handles the engineering development phase up to obtaining the supplemental certificate approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency and the US Federal Aviation Administration. Airbus gives the original equipment manufacturer data and certification support, whilst EFW leads the overall programme as well as marketing and sales.
“ST Engineering, Airbus and EFW’s A321P2F programme delivers strongly in the areas of innovativeness and value enhancement. We are pleased to partner with them and our customer, Titan Airways, on a solution that fully meets our customer’s requirements and drives value for our investors," said BBAM President and CEO Steve Zissis.
