ST Engineering secures contract for Safran LEAP engine repairs
The two-year contract has an option for an extension.
ST Engineering’s Commercial Aerospace business will provide module repair offload support for Safran Aircraft Engines’ CFM LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines under a two-year contract with an option for extension.
Under the agreement, Safran Aircraft Engines will offload module repair work on the high-pressure turbine (HPT) rotor assembly and stage 2 HPT nozzle assembly of the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines to ST Engineering.
Meanwhile, ST Engineering’s offload support will increase Safran Aircraft Engines’ MRO capacity and optimise the turnaround time of engine shop visits for customers.
In addition, ST Engineering will also reinforce its support to Safran Aircraft Engines in LEAP-1B engine maintenance offload services.
Currently, ST Engineering is providing maintenance offload support for Safran Aircraft Engines’ CFM56-5B, CFM56-7B, and LEAP-1A engines.
The LEAP engine fleet has recently surpassed 50 million engine flight hours and will grow based on a backlog of over 10,600 engines.
