Tiger Airways celebrates awards with Malaysia route discount
2 top prizes from Changi Airline Awards 2010 made Tiger slash fare to 9 cents to Malaysian cities.
Tiger Airways is offering seats at 9 cents plus taxes on its Singapore-Malaysia routes to celebrate winning two top awards this week.
At the Changi Airline Awards 2010 on 13 July, Tiger Airways won two top awards for size and growth. It beat all other Singapore-based carriers in terms of growth in number of passengers served, and was one of the top 10 airlines in terms of total number of passengers served, according to a Tiger Airways report
Rosalynn Tay, Managing Director of Tiger Airways Singapore, said, "We are proud to be recognized as a top carrier in terms of size and growth. To thank our customers who have made this possible, we are giving them prices that are even lower than our already low, low fares.
"With more and more passengers choosing Tiger Airways, it shows that our low fare offering is hitting the right spot. As we increase our capacity by 40% between now and December, we look forward to serving more passengers and increasing our economies of scale, which will help us offer even lower fares and attract even more passengers."
Available for booking only between 15 to 21 July 2010, the promotional seats are for travel between Singapore and Tiger's Malaysian destinations – Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Penang. They are available for booking from 15 to 21 July 2010 on a first-come, first-served basis.
Travel periods are:
Singapore-Kuala Lumpur – 1 October 2010 to 30 June 2011
Singapore-Kuching and Singapore-Penang – 10 January 2011 to 30 June 2011.
