Tiger Airways passenger volume up 90% in February 2010

Compared with February 2009, passenger volume almost doubled as Tiger served a total of 437,000 passengers in the previous month.

Said growth is attributed to the addition of double daily services between Hong Kong and Singapore and strong demand during the Lunar New Year period.

Total passenger numbers rose to 4.7 million, for the period of twelve months up to February 2010, or a 51 percent growth compared to the previous cycle.

Tiger Airways President and Group CEO Tony Davis said, "We are delighted to report that our strong growth momentum has continued in February with the commencement of the 'Year of the Tiger' and that our low cost, low fare model is attracting significantly higher numbers of passengers from across the region."

Davis added they are further growing Tiger's network with the addition of services to Brisbane from Melbourne, Adelaide and Rockhampton starting this month.
