Tiger Airways' Philippine operations put in question
A letter of complaint was filed against the airline before the Civil Aeronautics Board of the Philippines.
In a disclosure made to the Singapore Exchange, the LCC said the complaint suggested that the suspension of the operations of Tiger Airways Australia Pty. Ltd. (TT) in July 2011 by the Australian regulator, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, raises similar questions about the airline's operations to the Philippines.
Tiger Airways Singapore (TR), which markets budget flights in the country, however clarified that it is a company separate from TT..
TR has responded to the CAB with a detailed answer and a motion to dismiss the complaint.
“The company is of the opinion that the above complaint is without merit. TR and TT hold separate Air Operator's Certificates and are operated as two separate subsidiary companies,” the airline said.
