Tiger cries foul over Australian media report
The airline said a report by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation contained various inaccuracies.
Tiger Airways issued a statement referring to the media report by the ABC News on 5 September 2011 entitled “Tiger flight attendants still waiting for money”, which alleged that certain ex-employees of Tiger Airways Australia Pty. Ltd. were threatening legal action in relation to redundancy payments.
Here’s the clarification:
All employees in Adelaide who were willing to relocate to and take up positions in Melbourne have been offered relocation packages with Tiger Australia, and redundancy packages will be paid in due course to the affected ex-employees who have chosen not to relocate to Melbourne. Tiger Australia will make the relevant payments to the affected ex-employees in accordance with their employment agreements and the applicable law, and in connection with this, Tiger Australia will work closely with the affected ex-employees and the union. |
