Tiger to fly to three new Indian destinations
The airline, which currently serves two destinations in south India from Singapore, is exploring flying to Trichy in Tamil Nadu and to Trivandrum and Kochi in Kerala state.
Tiger Airways recently received its second owned aircraft and now has an expanded fleet of 19 to serve more travelers and destinations. This will allow Tiger Airways to pass savings to customers through low air fares as owning aircraft means further reduction in operating costs.
President and CEO Tony Davis said, "Besides destinations in Greater China such as Shantou, Taiwan, Xiamen and Hangzhou, we are also exploring the potential of serving more travelers between India and Singapore. As the world’s second most populous country, India is a natural consideration for us to expand our low-fare offering. We have had numerous requests from passengers to fly to more Indian destinations; with this encouragement, we plan to commence discussions with the airports and authorities."
Tiger Airways currently flies to Bangalore and Chennai.
