Even TIger Australia carriage crashed by a whopping 53%.
In a release, Tiger Singapore carried 339,000 passengers in July 2012, down 3% year-on year. Passenger load factor stood at a healthy 84%, albeit lower by 1 percentage point compared to the previous year.
For the 12 months to July 2012, passenger carriage on Tiger Singapore improved 23% yearon-year to 3.9 million passengers, a result of the significant injection of capacity over the past year.
For the 12 months to July 2012, Tiger Australia carried 1.4 million passengers, a decrease of 53% compared to the preceding 12-month period as a consequence of the suspension of its services by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia between 2 July 2011 and 11 August 2011.
However, Tiger Australia has been recording steady improvements. With the progressive ramp up of services, Tiger Australia carried 193,000 passengers in July 2012, up 40% from June 2012, and up 58% from May 2012. Tiger Australia recorded a passenger load factor of 84% in July 2012, 2 percentage points higher than the previous month.
By October 2012, Tiger Australia plans to operate at levels similar to that prior to July 2011. The launch of a second base in Sydney in 1 July 2012, and the progressive redeployment of aircraft to the new base, will enable higher utilisation of the fleet.
