
Tiger Singapore took off with 23% more passengers in March
While its Aussie arm made a 57% jump.
In a release, Tiger Singapore said that the number of passengers carried grew 23% y-o-y to 413,000 passengers.
It recorded a 30% increase in traffic to 766 million revenue passenger-kilometres (RPK) for the month of March 2013. This comes on the back of a 31% increase in capacity to 894 million available seat-kilometres (ASK). Consequently, year-on-year (y-o-y) passenger load factor was percentage point lower at 86%.
For the 12 months to March 2013, Tiger Singapore recorded a 20% increase in traffic to 8.0 billion RPK, more than keeping pace with a 15% increase in capacity to 9.5 billion ASK. Consequently, passenger load factor was three percentage points higher at 84%.
The number of passengers carried grew 13% to 4.4 million, compared to 3.9 million in the previous period.

Tiger Australia recorded a 78% increase in traffic to 267 million RPK while capacity increased 66% to 313 million ASK for the month of March 2013. As a result, passenger load factor improved 6 percentage points to 85%.
In March 2013, Tiger Australia carried 245,000 passengers, representing an increase of 108% over the previous period. The airline was operating at a significantly reduced capacity and on a limited schedule a year ago.
For the 12 months to March 2013, Tiger Australia recorded a 54% increase in traffic to 2.8 billion RPK, following a similar increase in capacity to 3.4 billion ASK. Passenger load factor remained unchanged at 83%. The number of passengers carried grew 57% to 2.5 million, compared to 1.6 million carried in the previous period.
