Tiger Airways appoints 3 Directors
The carrier appoints Arthur Lang Tao Yih and Maurice de Vaz as Non-Executive Directors and Koay Peng Yen as Executive Director.
Tiger Airways Holdings Limited (the “Company”) is proposing to appoint to the Board, Arthur Lang Tao Yih and Maurice de Vaz as Non-Executive Directors and Koay Peng Yen as Executive Director with effect from 31 July 2012. The appointments are subject to shareholders’ approval at the Tiger AGM on 31 July 2012.
Mr Lang is the Group Chief Financial Officer of CapitaLand Limited. Prior to joining CapitaLand, he was co-head of Morgan Stanley’s Southeast Asia Investment Banking Division. He had previously held various roles at the bank including Chief Operating Officer of the Asia Pacific Investment Banking Division where he was based in Hong Kong. Mr Lang is currently a board member of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics (magna cum laude) from Harvard University, according to a Tiger Airways report.
Captain de Vaz joined Malayan Airways, from which Singapore Airlines (“SIA”) originated, in 1963. He was appointed as SIA’s senior vice president of flight operations in 1981. During his term, he was also Chairman of SATS Apron Services and Singapore Flying College, member of the IATA Operations Committee, and board member of SIA Engineering Company. Captain de Vaz retired in 2002 and went on to serve as advisor to the CEO/Chairman of Qatar Airways, Pakistan Airways and Jet Airways. He is currently a board member of Tiger Airways Singapore Pte. Ltd. and Mount Alvernia Hospital in Singapore.
Mr Koay will be joining the Company on 10 August 2012 as Group Chief Executive Officer. He was previously Executive Director of Pacific Carriers Limited and PaxOcean Engineering Group, Kuok Group companies involved in marine and offshore engineering, offshore services, and shipping. Prior to that, he was Group CEO of IMC Corp Limited, an industrialand supply chain group. He earlier spent 18 years with NOL Limited in various senior management capacities. He has a Master of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
