Tiger Airways appoints Mr Hsieh Fu Hua as Independent Director
The former Temasek President has more than 35 years’ experience in merchant banking and capital markets in Asia.
He held the position of Executive Director and President of Temasek Holdings from August 2010 to October 2011, and currently serves as Non-executive Director of Temasek Holdings and ICAP plc.
From 2003 to 2009, Mr. Hsieh served as Chief Executive Officer and Non-independent Director of Singapore Exchange Limited. Before joining SGX, he was Group Managing Director of BNP Prime Peregrine Group in Hong Kong, the joint venture Asian investment banking arm of BNP founded by PrimePartners.
Prior to forming PrimePartners in 1993, Mr. Hsieh was Group Managing Director of Morgan Grenfell Asia Holdings Pte. Ltd. which he joined in 1974. He is a member of the National University of Singapore Board of Trustees and the National Arts Council, Singapore.
Meanwhile Ms. Lim Siew Lay and Mr. Chang Long Wee have resigned as nonexecutive Directors of Tiger Airways with effect from 4 November 2011. Ms. Lim and Mr. Chang, who are both senior executives of Singapore Airlines, served on the Board from 30 July 2010.
Mr. Yap Chee Keong, who has served as an Independent Director since 1 December 2009, has been appointed as Lead Independent Director.
