The space showcases 3M's tech platforms through interactive demos.
American multinational company 3M has opened a new 10,000 square metres headquarters in Ang Mo Kio. Housed inside Techpoint, the company's new office space spans three floors as it hosts over 500 employees from the regional, functional and suppy chain operations.
"Our Singapore footprint has grown over the last 52 years," said Yuko Nakahira, managing director, 3M Singapore. "This complements our growth in the region whilst supporting the government's push for a more liveable city."
The space features several wide collaboration spaces in cheerful colours of green and yellow as 3M aims to boost networking and interaction amongst its employees whilst boosting productivity. Homegrown sustainable solutions have also been deployed in the making of the office in line with the company's goal of reducing its environmental footprint.
"As we expand our presence in Singapore, 3M is looking into ways to foster more collaborations with local and regional partners, and develop Asia-centric solutions that address our customer's sustainability challegens," she added.
3M's new headquarters also features a $1.3m Customer Technical Center (CTC) that showcases the company's 46 technology platforms across 25 stations through interactive displays and demonstrations.
"It is the first 3M CTC in Southeast Asia to feature virtual reality technology that simulates realistic work-at-height training scenarios. Other noteworthy installations include the Curved Dark Tunnel showcasing 3M retroreflective solutions such as sign sheeting and pavement markings that improve traffic safety and mobility," added Nakahira.
