Check out Reed Smith's sleek hub at Ocean Financial Centre
With expansive meeting rooms and breakout spaces, the office can host up to 100 guests.
International law firm Reed Smith has moved to a new office in the Ocean Financial Centre, featuring spaces that offer stunning views of the marina and beyond through wide floor-to-ceiling windows.
“The larger office space provides the necessary room for the firm to grow its team of diverse legal practitioners and attract top talent from across the region. In addition, with the ability to host up to 100 guests at one time, we hope to host an increasing number of industry-leading events for clients and new audiences,” Barry Stimpson, Office Managing Partner, Reed Smith told Singapore Business Review.
With 54 individual offices and an open-plan space for approximately 23 desks and 4 meetings rooms, it has the capacity to house over 70 employees. Reed Smith currently has 58 employees, including 37 lawyers. The 18,751 sq. ft space space is also shared with its Formal Law Alliance (FLA) partner, Resource Law LLC.
“The Reed Smith Resource Law Alliance is now able to assist clients seamlessly with multi- jurisdictional matters, and can offer full Singapore law expertise to clients, including Reed Smith’s stellar shipping and commodities clientele,” says Stimpson.
The main driving force behind the FLA was to strengthen the company’s offerings to global clients in handling multijurisdictional transactions, disputes and cross-border work, particularly where elements of Singapore law are involved.
“With the Reed Smith Resource Law alliance, we look forward to boosting our practice in other growth areas for Singapore where Reed Smith is already a market leading firm globally such as IP, technology and data protection,” he adds.
Innovation remains a key priority for Reed Smith as it enhances its presence in the region. “We are midst rolling-out our Innovation Hours programme, which recognizes up to 50 innovation hours toward billable-hour targets for fee earners, and our Associate Life initiative, a comprehensive programme to prepare our early career lawyers for advancement, leadership roles, and long-term professional success,” he says.
The new office was designed by PDM, an award-winning company of JLL. “Using Singapore as its Southeast Asia hub, the office remains strategically positioned to advise clients in Singapore and those conducting business throughout the region,” Stimpson notes.
