Singapore eyes tripling Punggol's size to have 96,000 homes
Find out which firms will benefit.
According to Maybank Kim Eng, Punggol has been identified to have more development potential under the Land Use Plan.
To be precise, Punggol is envisaged to have 96,000 dwelling units (mostly public housing) when fully developed, which will be triple its current size.
Here's more from Maybank Kim Eng:
The Land Use Plan briefly introduced seven waterfront housing districts, which we expect to be incorporated into MP13, together with the planned 2km North East Line Extension catering to the growing population in Punggol.
The expected timeframe is over the next 15 years and beyond.
Far East Organization is currently building a 370,000-sq ft mall called Waterway Point, to be completed by 2015.
It will be the only notable retail mall in Punggol and we believe there is room for more, which should feature in MP13. This will again provide opportunities for CMA and SPH.
