URA to launch tender for a Robertson Quay hotel site
A developer has committed to bid at a price of not less than S$51.5mln to the site along the historic Singapore River.
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) announced on Thursday that it has accepted an application from a developer to put up the hotel site at Robertson Quay for sale via public tender.
The land parcel was made available for sale through the Reserve List system on 22 April 2010. URA has received an application from a developer for the site to be put up for public tender. The developer has committed to bid at a price of not less than S$51,500,000 in the tender for the land parcel. As the minimum price committed by the developer is acceptable to the Government, the site will be released for sale via public tender, according to a URA report.
In accordance with the procedures of the Reserve List system, URA is making public the minimum price committed for the site. However, the identity of the applicant will not be released. URA will launch the public tender for the site in about two weeks. The launch date will be announced later. The tender period for the land parcel will be about eight weeks.
Land Parcel at Robertson Quay
The hotel site is located within Robertson Quay, along the historic Singapore River, amidst a well-established hotel cluster comprising developments such as Studio M Hotel, Park Hotel Clarke Quay and The Gallery Hotel.
The site enjoys direct access to the Singapore River promenade. Many popular entertainment, food & beverage and lifestyle outlets along Robertson Quay, Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Mohamed Sultan Road are seamlessly connected to this waterfront promenade and are within walking distance from this hotel site.
The site is also just a short drive away from the heart of the city’s business and financial centre in Raffles Place and Marina Bay, and popular tourist attractions such as Chinatown and Sentosa.
With a land area of about 0.45 ha, the hotel site can generate a maximum permissible gross floor area of 12,651 sqm.
