Daily Briefing: Biotech firm Curiox Biosystems raised $20.45m in series B funding; GIC acquired Grade A office tower in Paris

And a Holland Road Shopping Centre carpark is up for sale at $32m.

Zig Ventures-backed bio-instrumentation firm Curiox Biosystems has raised $20.45m (US$15m) in its Series B funding round. The fresh funding will be used to scale up and accelerate its commercialisation activities globally.

Backed by Korean investors, Curiox also revealed plans to pursue an initial public offering on the Korean stock exchange KOSDAQ in the next 36 months.

In a statement, Zig Ventures said the funding round was backed by Korean biotech investors who are attracted to the bio-instrumentation solutions that Curiox develops for cell analysis and therapy in the pharma and biotech industries.

The investors in the Series B funding round include KB Investment, Dayli Partners, Quad Investment Management, IMM Investment, SV Investment Partners, and HB Investment.

Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC announced its acquisition of PB6, a Grade A office tower in La Defense, the high-rise business district west of Paris, for an undisclosed amount.

PB6, also known as Tour EDF, was built for and is fully leased by Electricite de France (EDF), France’s main electricity company. It is the tallest skyscraper built in La Defense business district in Paris.

In the latest deal, GIC said PB6, an iconic 40-storey asset, represents “attractive value creation opportunities” that it wants to capture by investing to enhance the asset and service offering.

The acquisition took place a year after GIC agreed to acquire Tour Ariane, a 40-storey office tower in the same district for $732.14m (US$537.1m).
