Keppel Data Centres invests $21.5m in Series C round of Luxembourg data centre developer
Etix has a network of data centres across Europe, Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia.
Keppel Data Centres Holding (KDCH) has invested approximately $21.5m (EUR14m) in the Series C funding of Luxembourg-based data centre developer Etix Group S.A. (Etix), an announcement revealed.
Etix, a provider of data centre colocation services, leverages prefabricated data centre modules for quick data centre deployment and has built up a network of data centres across Europe, Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia. To date, the company has deployed more than 50MW of colocation capacity through 12 data centres.
It has a portfolio that includes patented solutions to help partners and customers optimise energy efficiency, security, and IT workloads in their data centres.
According to Wong Wai Meng, CEO of Keppel Data Centres, KDCH’s investment into Etix will allow the firm to tap the growing demand for edge facilities and opens new possibilities for potential synergies, such as tapping Etix’s research technologies.
“This will give Keppel Data Centres the opportunity to deploy some of these new technologies in our data centres and deliver tangible benefits for our data centre customers,” he added.
KDCH is a 70-30 joint venture between Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation (Keppel T&T) and Keppel Land, which are both subsidiaries of Keppel Corporation.
