Keppel signs MOU with Greenko to explore green ammonia production
They will explore the feasibility of developing a 250,000 tonne green ammonia production facility.
Keppel Infrastructure Holdings has signed a memorandum of understanding with Greenko Group to jointly explore green ammonia and renewable energy opportunities.
The two aim to meet growing demand for low carbon energy in India, Singapore, and globally.
Under the MOU, Keppel and Greenko will explore the feasibility of jointly developing a production facility which can produce at least 250,000 tonnes of green ammonia per year. Green ammonia is made with green hydrogen that comes from water electrolysis powered by renewable power, according to Keppel.

The two will also evaluate a portfolio of solar and wind energy projects, up toan installed capacity of approximate 1.3 GW, complemented by pumped hydro-storage, to power the green ammonia production facility.
Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Trade and Industry, was present to witness the signing of the MOU. India’s Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Sri Hardeep Singh also joined the proceedings virtually.
Joining them, were also His Excellency Periasamy Kumaran, High Commissioner of India to Singapore; Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel Corporation; Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel Infrastructure; Anil Kumar Chalamalasetty, Chief Executive, Managing Director and Founder of Greenko; and Mahesh Kolli, President, Joint Managing Director and Founder of Greenko Group.
