Lack of data is property leaders' top issue on reaching ESG goals
Global property professionals reveal the most impactful ESG initiatives.
Majority of property professionals worldwide, with 15% coming from Singapore, revealed that headwinds for reaching ESG goals is the lack of data, a CBRE survey showed.
According to the study, such an issue is true amongst investors, who are focused on determining the most impactful cost benefit for their portfolio.
Almost 70% of respondents said there is an increased focus on ESG strategies in 2022 due to higher energy costs and government-imposed disclosure requirements.
Amongst their priority is reducing energy consumption. CBRE noted that investors and tenants are often willing to pay a premium for buildings with energy-efficient features.
More than 500 commercial real estate professionals globally were interviewed in the survey, with 75 are from Singapore.
