LTA awards $510m civil contract for West Coast Station construction

Construction works will begin in 1Q24.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) awarded Gamuda Berhad the civil contract to design and construct the West Coast Station and tunnels under the Cross Island Line Phase 2 (CRL2) at a contract value of around $510m.

Construction works for the CRL West Coast station will likely begin in the first quarter of 2024, with passenger service for CRL Phase 2 targeted to commence in 2032.

CRL West Coast Station is near residential and commercial buildings.

The mixed ground condition of the location, which includes soft marine clay and hard sedimentary rocks, will make construction challenging.

LTA will monitor further mitigation measures and the contractor to ensure a safe and timely completion.
