Real estate investment volumes down 55.6% QoQ in Q4 22

On the back of low asset sales in retail and residential, real estate investment volumes declined 55.6% quarter-on-quarter to $3.194b in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2022, CBRE said.
In a statement, CBRE said full year 2022 investment volumes increased 9.8% compared to the year before even as investor sentiments were muted. It landed at $30.293b, with support from strong volumes in the first half of 2022.
The 2022 office investment volumes were the highest since 2016, but Q4 office investment volumes fell 32.2% from the previous quarter and 63.8% from the previous year.
Hotel and retail investment volumes rebounded in 2022 because of the tourism recovery. Capital values and yields mostly stabilised in Q4 2022.
