SLA revises land betterment charge rates
The agency made adjustments for five use groups.
The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) has revised the land betterment charge (LBC) rates for commercial (Group A), landed residential (Group B1), non-landed residential (Group B2), hotel/ hospital (Group C), and industrial (Group D) purposes.
SLA will apply the revised charges from 1 March to 31 August.
According to SLA, LBC rates for the use of Group A have increased by 3.8% on average. One hundred four (104) of the 118 sectors saw rates increase from 3% to 9%.
For Group B1, the increase averaged 7.8%. Out of the 118 sectors under the group, 116 saw an increase ranging from 7% to 8%. The remaining two sectors saw no change.
Under Group B2, 37 sectors saw an increase of 3% to 14%, whilst 27 saw a decrease of 1%-19%. On average, LBC rates for Group B2 increased 0.1%.
Meanwhile, LBC rates for land used for hospital or hotel purposes increased by 0.7% on average, with 18 of 118 sectors posting an increase of around 5%.
Land used for industrial purposes increased by around 1.7% on average, with 42 of the 118 sectors posting a 3%-5% increase.
