STB remains confident in the tourism potential of Jurong Lake District site: Low
The site failed to receive submissions during its launch in 2022.
Despite receiving no submissions when it was launched in March 2022, the Singapore Tourism Board remains confident about the tourism potential of the Jurong Lake District site.
This was revealed by Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Low Yen Ling, in her response to the Parliament.
Citing STB, Low added that the site is adjacent to the new Science Centre and Jurong Lake Gardens
To recall, a request for proposal for a new tourism development at a site in Jurong Lake District was launched in March 2022 and closed in October 2022.
“The war in Ukraine coupled with the overall slowdown in the global economy created an uncertain economic environment during that period, especially for the tourism sector,” Low said.
“We are monitoring market sentiments and exploring other possibilities to harness this potential,” Low said.
