Waterfront Gold introduces skypark in luxury project

Residents will be the first in country to enjoy skypark for leisure, relaxation and workout.

Waterfront Gold, the third phase of the Bedok Waterfront collection, developed jointly by Frasers Centrepoint and Far East Organisation, will be the first private condominium development to introduce a skypark. Located on the topmost 16th floor of the condominium, the 8,000 sq ft (the size of seven 3-bedroom units) observation-cum-exercise deck will offer unparalleled views of the Bedok reservoir, according to a Frasers Centrepoint Homes report.

Skypark offers experiential features

“Residents at Waterfront Gold will be the first to enjoy this unique skypark which has a viewing deck, a fitness deck which incorporates a tai-chi and yoga area, a mini putting green, a foot reflexology path, complete with water features and themed gardens. A glass lift that lets you enjoy the waterfront's panoramic landscape brings you up to this skypark,” explains Mr Cheang Kok Kheong, Chief Operating Officer of Frasers Centrepoint Homes.

“The intention was to merge the boundaries, by extending the reservoir and surrounding park into the living quarters," the COO said. "By creating an experiential health haven on the top deck of this development, we have managed to accentuate the stunning views of the reservoir, at the same time linking it to a natural development landscape environment.”

Masterplanned to maximize panoramic views

Part of the largest and the only water-fronting development site in the area, the Waterfront collection has been master-planned to maximize views and access to the reservoir. A spinal ‘green lung’ traverses the entire Waterfront collection, creating a continuous landscape of greenery and waterscape which allows residents to enjoy views of either the reservoir, pools or landscape.

“There will be this sense of openness that residents will enjoy, with minimum obstructed views of the reservoir. The masterplan ensures that all units have excellent views, either of the reservoir, pools or the landscape. Our aim is to create an idyllic urban resort, away from the concrete jungle of built-up Singapore,” continues Mr Cheang. “In fact, the Bedok reservoir is the largest reservoir outside of the central catchment area, equivalent to an area of about 700 Olympic-sized swimming pools, with a 4.5 km jogging track running alongside it.

"Coupled with the recreational and water sports facilities available, it’s akin to having a huge playground at your doorstep!” Cheang exclaimed.

Another sweetener for buyers' consideration is the location of one of the Downtown MRT Line 3 stations at Bedok Reservoir. Scheduled for completion by 2016, this will reduce traveling time by 10 minutes for commuters traveling to the city from Bedok Reservoir.

Unit sizes and designs to accommodate changing demographics

The 361-unit condominium offers a range of layouts and unit sizes. These include 1-bedroom, 1+1 bedroom, 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, 4-bedroom, and penthouse units. There are also ‘Homes For life’ concepts that have been incorporated into some of these units. These cater to the needs of home-owners who may want the flexibility of modular designs to accommodate their changing needs as they age in place, for instance, counter-tops’ heights that can be adapted, and accessible work-top power-points.
