Lendlease appoints new CEO
This comes as current CEO SteveMcCann announces his planned retirement.
Real estate group Lendlease has appointed Tony Lombardo as its new chief executive officer from 31 May, the company announced in a press release.
Lombardo, who is currently the CEO of the group’s Asia division and is based in Singapore, will replace current CEO Steve McCann, who will be retiring.
Lendlease chairman Michael Ullmer mentioned that Lombardo’s time as the CEO of Asia division and his prior roles make him qualified to lead the group.
“Tony will commence in his new role as the Group pursues its revised strategy focusing on leveraging its competitive edge in the development and delivery of large-scale, mixed-use urbanisation projects and growing the Investments platform,” Ullmer said.
Lombardo has more than 25 years of experience working across real estate development, investment management, finance, mergers and acquisitions, and strategy in Australia and internationally.
As part of resetting Lendlease Asia’s growth strategy during his time as CEO of Asia division, he spearheaded a number of major initiatives to drive future growth.
“I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Steve during my career at Lendlease and he leaves the group in a strong position with great future momentum. I look forward to working with the board, management and our 11,000-strong team globally to deliver positive outcomes for all of our stakeholders,” Lombardo said.
