The best schools for best paying degrees in Singapore
Check out why SMU beat NUS in law and economics.
Taking up a degree in any of the top 5 fields in Singapore - law, medicine, business, economics and computer engineering - requires a huge investment. For instance, current tuition fees for a law degree in the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore Management University(SMU) range from a total of $50,000-$70,000 for four years. Obtaining a degree in medicine is far more expensive. It is thus logical to consider which school is a good bet when it comes to financial pay-off after graduation.
Of course, while the school's reputation is a factor affecting the potential salary, there are other factors to consider. A study by Digital Senior, an online resource site dedicated for students in Singapore universities, found that it also pays to get good grades.
The following slides will show you the results of Digital Senior's survey of the 3 best schools in career prospects - the NUS, SMU, and the Nanyang Technology University (NTU). All figures presented are the 75 percentile gross salary of grads in SGD.
