1 in 2 workers comfortable discussing mental health with mgmt: survey
However, 66% of respondents reported heavy workloads.
Over half of Singapore employees are comfortable discussing mental health concerns with their managers or human resources teams, with 57% rating their work-life balance as "Good" or "Excellent," according to a survey by job platform foundit.
This trend suggests an increased focus on employee wellbeing and a more open corporate culture surrounding mental health issues, it added.
However, 66% of respondents reported heavy workloads, indicating room for improvement in workload distribution and management. Additionally, whilst 35% of employees engage in wellness programmes, 38% have not participated, and 27% are unaware of such initiatives.
The survey also found that 37% of employees occasionally experience burnout symptoms such as exhaustion and reduced professional efficacy, underscoring the need for continued support.
Employees cited workload (37%) and a lack of support (34%) as the primary contributors to work-related stress, foundit said.
