COTD: Singapore leaders view GenAI as key to strategic leadership shifts
Managers and leaders expect GenAI to improve their skills and productivity.
In Singapore, 65% of leaders and managers see strong potential in generative AI (GenAI) for complex strategic tasks, with over half believing managers will play a key role as catalysts for Gen AI-driven change, Capgemini reported.
In the next three years, 78% of leaders and managers expect Gen AI to enhance their problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Meanwhile, 51% believe that many managerial roles will transition to either specialist or subject matter expert positions or top strategic leadership.
This sentiment is most prevalent amongst managers in the supply chain sector at 64%, followed by human resources at 63% and IT/engineering at 58%.
Similarly, 57% of managers in the product design/development and sustainability sectors share this sentiment.
Capgemini also found that GenAI could save leaders and managers up to seven hours each week, with nearly 8 in 10 leaders believing that Gen AI will positively impact their productivity in the next 12 months.
In addition, 57% of leaders of organisations advanced in their Gen AI implementation already see their roles becoming more strategic, whilst 97% of leaders and managers report having experimented with Gen AI tools. However, only 15% use them at least once a day in their work.
