8 in 10 organisations want employees with tech-focused certification
Seven in 10 are having difficulty finding such employees.
As more organisations suffer breaches, employers are racing to fill critical IT positions; however, the cybersecurity skills shortage is making it hard for them to achieve this goal.
To address the skills shortage, employers are focusing on upskilling security professionals and seeking employees with tech-focused certifications.
Fortinet data showed that 88% of organisations now prefer to hire individuals with technology-focused certifications. Additionally, 85% would pay to get an employee a cybersecurity certification.
Almost all organisations in Singapore (96%) also recognise the benefits of certifications.
On the flip side, there are not enough professionals certified in Singapore, with more than 75% of organisations saying they are having difficulties finding people with certifications.

In today’s climate, organizations must choose products that introduce automation to offload overworked teams while continuing to focus on upskilling and cybersecurity training,” John Maddison, EVP of Products and CMO at Fortinet, said.
