Looking for a job? Here are 5 sectors where job postings have grown the fastest
Overall, job postings increased 18% YoY in October.
Those who have yet to be employed may start considering sectors like pharmacy and social science, which both saw the fastest growth in terms of job postings over the last three months.
According to the job portal Indeed, vacant positions offered under the two industries grew by 38% since 31 July.
Other sectors where job offers have grown the fastest include cleaning and sanitation (+30%), therapy (+28%), and education (+26%).
Overall, job postings increased by 18% YoY in October.
On the other hand, Indeed recorded a decline in job postings in sectors such as security and public safety (-10.7%), civil engineering (-8.4%), hospitality and tourism (-7.0%), and architecture (-6.9%).
“Despite these recent falls, the demand for workers in each of these categories is still strong by historical standards,” Indeed commented.
Meanwhile, Indeed also reported that by end of October, job positions with remote opportunities saw a slight uptick, increasing to 5.1% from 5.0% in September.
“The slight rise marks the first monthly increase in the remote posting share since May. This coincides with the preference of job seekers. Data shows that they are still keenly interested in remote work, with 3.5% of Singapore searches on Indeed mentioning remote keywords,” Indeed commented.
Given the recent findings, Indeed said Singapore’s labour market remains favourable for jobseekers and challenging for recruitment, showing that high inflation and rising interest rates haven’t affected job creation.
Indeed, however, warned that tighter monetary policy, via an appreciation in the value of the Singapore currency, might soften job creation over the next 12 to 18 months.
