EASB and QMU to organize alumni high tea event at Keppel Bay

The alumni members can also view the clipper round the world race on February 3, from 3-6PM.

East Asia Institute of Management (EASB) has established a long partnership with Queen Margaret University (QMU), providing quality education primarily in the areas of Hospitality & Tourism, Nursing and MBA programmes. To keep in contact with past graduates, EASB together with QMU would be organising an alumni high tea event, in conjunction with the renowned clipper race at the Marina at Keppel bay.

Set against the scenic backdrop of Keppel bay, alumni members not only get to stay in touch and catch up with one another, but more importantly create and maintain a networking opportunity that benefit EASB graduates from Queen Margaret University. Alumni Members would also get the opportunity to view the clipper - Edinburgh Inspiring Capital - up close, alongside other 9 clippers involved the clipper round the world race.

Clipper round the world race is an international sailing event competed with identical racing yachts, each representing a region or a country. The race is spread across globally and divided into 8 legs, lasting a full year and expected to cover an estimated 40,000 nautical miles. The clippers would set off from Eastern Australia before calling to port at Keppel bay in Singapore in Early February 2012.

QMU is one of the sponsors of for the clipper, Edinburgh inspiring Capital, which is amongst the 10 clippers involved. The idea for Edinburgh inspiring capital was conceived as a joint international marketing strategy, to amplify messages of location and lifestyle, with Edinburgh’s major Universities – one of it being QMU.

Also present amongst the guests were Professor Petra Wend, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of QMU and Ms Rosalyn Marshall Vice Principal (Resources and Development) of QMU. Their presence would be much welcome as they could receive first hand feedback about employment from various QMU graduates. Alumni members in turn, also get the chance to keep in touch with their alma mater, and future developments within QMU and EASB.

EASB has been the institute of choice for many over the decade and till date graduated over 1500 local and international students from across the globe. Recently, EASB organised its inaugural Alumni Reunion Dinner and Networking session, Singapore Chapter, held in Amara Hotel on the 15th of January this year. The Alumni committee is already planning for the next leg of the networking session namely in China.
