Former CapitaLand CEO Liew Mun Leong joins NUS
Will teach classes on management and leadership.
According to a release, founding President and Chief Executive Officer of CapitaLand Group, Mr Liew Mun Leong, has been appointed as Provost’s Chair Professor (Practice) in both the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School and the Faculty of Engineering. The appointment is effective from 15 April 2013.
A business leader who has had more than 42 years' experience in the region's construction and real estate development industry, in both the public and private sectors, Mr Liew will teach undergraduate and postgraduate classes on management and leadership at NUS Business School on a part time and pro bono basis. He will also work with its faculty members on research and developing business case studies.
Besides teaching and research activities, Mr Liew will also provide leadership and strategic advice to staff at both the NUS Business School as well as the Faculty of Engineering.
In addition to these roles, Mr Liew will remain as a member of NUS Business School’s Management Advisory Board, and Chairman of Changi Airport Group Pte Ltd, Surbana International Consultants Holdings Pte Ltd and Pavilion Gas Pte Ltd.
Mr Liew Mun Leong has spent 22 years in the public service developing Singapore's Changi Airport, military airports and establishments, and heading two science and technology statutory boards.
He was the Registrar of the Professional Engineers Board, granting engineers’ licenses to practise in Singapore and regulating engineering practices in Singapore. He has also served in international public institutions such as the Executive Board of International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) for which he was later elected and served as its President for one term.
