Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy transferred from SAL to SMU
It has been restructured as a research centre under the university.
The Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy (SIDRA) is no longer a part of the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) Group and has been restructured as a research centre under the Singapore Management University (SMU), an announcement revealed.
The change reportedly took effect on 22 May 2019.
“Besides encouraging greater participation from the university’s faculty, the restructuring will also give SIDRA access to the university’s research funds,” SAL noted. SIDRA will continue to operate out of SMU’s School of Law building on Armenian Street.
SIDRA was incorporated as a company in January 2017, limited by guarantee of SAL and SAL subsidiary, the Singapore Mediation Centre. In the two years since, SIDRA reportedly become a changemaker in the deal-making and dispute resolution landscape, both in Singapore and in the Asia-Pacific region.
