4 in 10 HR professionals oppose AI in hiring without safeguards
Only three in ten firms in Singapore have AI usage policies.
Nearly half of HR professionals (45%) oppose using AI tools in recruitment until adequate regulations and ethical safeguards are established, Hays Singapore revealed.
In Singapore, only three in ten HR professionals reported that their organisation or leader had issued a policy or provided guidelines on AI tool usage and restrictions for work.
Concerns about ethical AI use, ensuring fairness, and mitigating bias in AI algorithms (31%) are among the top challenges HR professionals face when implementing AI.
Some (31%) also cited difficulty integrating AI with existing HR systems and processes, but the main barrier to its implementation is budget constraints (35%).
|Establishing security measures, transparent data handling practices, and long-term cost savings and efficiencies of AI would be pertinent to its implementation in recruitment. Adequate IT support and infrastructure will be crucial for HR teams to adopt AI in recruitment successfully,” Hays said.
