6 in 10 Singaporeans fear that AI will replace their jobs
Despite the worry, most Singapore would delegate as much work to AI to lessen workloads.
With more businesses jumping on the digitalisation ship, more Singaporeans (67%) fear that artificial intelligence will replace their jobs, data from Microsoft's 2023 Work Trend Index showed.
Whilst Singaporeans are worried about the possibilities that AI brings about, they still deem the technology helpful, with 81% saying they would delegate as much work as possible to AI to lessen their workload.
Singaporeans are also comfortable using AI for administrative tasks (85%), analytical work (87%), and even creative aspects of their role (81%).
Microsoft, however, underscored that Singaporeans need not worry much about being replaced by AI as business leaders are 1.5x more likely to view AI as a valuable tool to boost productivity rather than cutting headcount (30% vs 20%).
The report also found that 88% of business leaders are preparing their employees for the growth of AI.
