7 in 10 corporate websites not good enough for job seekers
Most companies are at risk of losing young talent, according to the survey by SHRI commissioned by StepStone Solutions.
This risk is through not understandng discrepancies between the expectations of young job candidates and current recruitment practices.
According to the new research released at the 2011 talent symposium organised by StepStone Solutions, the impact of poor online recruitment processes could be detrimental to their employer branding efforts, especially when companies are in need of new people to fill up the talent pipeline in a highly competitive marketplace.
In 2010, StepStone Solutions in Singapore commissioned SHRI to survey 50 companies in Singapore/Malaysia to understand their career website and application process.
Nearly 7 in 10 do not offer any search function, making it difficult for applicants to search for relevant posts with 68% of the companies surveyed not having enough information provided on possible internal career paths.
None of those surveyed followed up with either an acceptance or decline notification, not giving applicants any closure.
Local companies can beat multinationals in the talent war with good use of internet recruitment.
