Abut 73% of companies are looking to fill tech-lite roles in the next two years, data from NTUC LearningHub's Industry Insights report showed.

Companies are willing to hire candidates even without relevant education (67%) or job experience (65%) as long as they have undergone skills training and attained certification in coding.

This is because there has been an increasing need for employees across various roles to acquire basic coding skills, according to 84% of employers.

Apart from coding skills, companies are also looking for candidates who possess problem-solving (69%) and communication (58%) skills, and digital fluency (52%), as they are complementary to the technical skills of an effective coder.

"Marketing professionals can acquire basic coding skills to automate rudimentary marketing processes using robotic process automation," Chew added.
