9 in 10 employees want more flexibility in their jobs: survey
Employees are changing their approach toward work amidst an increasing level of work stress.
Nine in 10 employees in Singapore want more flexibility in their jobs as they feel their levels of stress and burnout increasing amidst the pandemic, Randstad’s H2 2021 Workmonitor survey showed.
According to the survey, seven in 10 employees aged 18 to 44 were more stressed in their jobs during the pandemic, while 48% of those aged 55 to 67 felt the same.
Due to the stress that they have been experiencing, about three in five employees have started to reassess their work-life balance.
When this balance is not achieved by employees in their current jobs, they will most likely switch jobs as shown by the survey which found that three in 10 have changed jobs between March and Spetermr 2021, whilst one in four were on the lookout for new jobs during the fourth quarter of last year.
The survey also found that 49% of employees value having jobs with manageable stress levels, and 42% will prioritise working for a respected and caring employer.
