Almost half of Singaporean workers support equal parental leave
Workers aged 18 to 24 are most supportive of the initiative.
Over four in 10 (47%) workers in Singapore support equal parental leave, a survey by Indeed revealed.
The survey comes months after the Singapore government proposed to increase government-paid paternity leave.
Amongst age groups, workers aged 18 to 24 (55%) and 25 to 34 (51%) are most supportive of equal parental leave.
In terms of sector, Indeed said working parents in IT will likely receive additional paid parental leave (44%), followed by those in retail & consumer (42%) and financial services (39%) industries
Meanwhile, legal (43%), public sector (36%) and the built environment (36%) were the top industries to offer additional paid maternity leave. Additional unpaid parental leave was offered most to those in arts & culture (41%), HR (38%) and energy & utilities (35%).
